What gates do you install?
- Walk gates for side yards, trash areas and pool enclosures.
- Double swing driveway gates for boats, trailers and cars.
- Sliding gates where a driveway is too short or steep for a swing gate.
- Self-closing, self-latching pool gates that swing away from the pool.
- Automatic openers for driveway and commercial gates.
Why do gates sag and stick?
Most problems trace back to the hinge post. A wide gate puts a lot of leverage on a single post, and soft or wet ground lets it lean. We size the gate post and footing for the gate's width and weight, brace wood and vinyl frames, and use stainless or coated hinges and latches so they do not seize in the salt air.
Does a gate opener need its own permit?
Fort Lauderdale's fence checklist calls for an electrical permit when a fence or gate includes electrical work, on top of the building permit. We coordinate both.
What about pool gates?
Pool gates have strict rules under Florida law: they must open outward, close on their own and latch on their own, with the release out of a small child's reach. See pool fences and the pool fence rules guide.
Need a gate added to an existing fence?
We can usually cut in a new gate or replace a failed one without rebuilding the fence. Tell us the fence material and the opening width in the form below.
